This is my first blog post for my new website Dixon Zone. Creating my own website on Special Needs is something I have wanted to do for a couple years now. So why am I creating it now? The real reason I finally decided to create the site was for a project in my EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. I am so thankful that I finally found something to make me stop procrastinating.
The reason I wanted to create this site was because there are so many information site out there that just give you list of this of information about the different types of special needs cases; however they never give you ideas on how to relate to these people. I want to find stories on people with autism and down syndrome doing amazing things. I want to be able to find articles on how different types of technology are helping these people.
My goal with this new website is to help others to understand people with autism, and mental retardation, even those that are blind. They are all people and all have a special place among us. They do not need to learn how to socialize with us, we need to learn to socialize with them.
